One of the sharpest, most serious entries into the Stumptown series, King of Clubs is easily the best. We get a look at Dex’s past in the war, her PTSD and a less happy-go-lucky side of the Portland PI. After this installment, it’s no surprise that this got picked up into a TV series.

It was ok. The artist changed. The story was ok. It just generally felt off. But hey I'm also not a soccer fan, not even for Timbers. I didn't like the buddy PI thing. The ending was okay. And I'll keep on reading.

I liked the first two volumes but this one nose dived for me. If it weren't for the world of characters already built it would unreadable.

I'm really enjoying these. I'm hoping we'll see some of these storylines in the tv show, because some of the dialogue would sound excellent out loud. Like, I can imagine it.
