Readable and enjoyable for what it is, a chick lit fantasy story. Read in one sitting in a couple of hours. Light read, if you want a short escape into the world of witches and magic worth a go. Spelling and grammar mistakes were off-putting, but not unexpected. I would probably read the others in the series if I was stuck for a quick read.

6/10 fast poolside read, liked it, it wasn't as bad as I thought.

I couldn't get more than a few chapters into it. Aside from the too-perfect characters and awkward dialogue, I'm tired of authors twisting Wicca - an actual religion - to simply be synonymous with magic. It's lazy, unimaginative, and overdone. The only instance I've seen it pulled off is in Cate Tiernan's Sweep series, which manages to capture the spirit of the religion and differentiate between those who simply practice the religion and those who practice the religion and have magical powers.

This was not an un-enjoyable read.  I liked the concept and there was a surprising plot point or two that did make me go "ohhhh." The storytelling however did not make me want to read the next book in the series. It just felt like there was something missing in the story to flesh it out and make me more invested in the character's stories.

I really enjoyed this. I read the summary for book 2 and I am glad this one read great as a stand alone, as the plot for book two doesn’t interest me.

I enjoyed the story. It's unique, and I like the way it moves back and forth through time to give the characters some history. But I don't feel like it's as well executed as it could be. Most of the dialogue feels inauthentic, and the characters lack real depth. It's definitely entertaining, though, and the ending made me curious as to how the story will continue.

I don't understand all the 4 and 5 star ratings for this book. The writing is forced, the story falls flat and the characters lack depth. The description was intriguing but I'm honestly disappointed I wasted time reading this book. Thankfully it's not very long. I won't be reading the other two in the series.
