I will 100% be revisiting this book. It was intense and reflective and beautiful and heartbreaking. For me personally it was really intense in terms of the work and I decided that it would be better to just take it in the first round and focus on doing the work on another round after I have been able to process these ideas more. Sometimes I think we try too hard to race through healing when what we really need is to sit in the discomfort longer.

This is a powerful book. I appreciate the honesty in the book and their willingness to say that forgiveness is hard. This book takes time, and while when they read it quickly, you can't do the work quickly.

Probably should just start at the beginning and have another go through. Or put this in my calendar to reread (relisten) this month, next year. So good. Great in audiobook format.

I just finished reading this book for the third time and still can't recommend it enough. There is so much wisdom in these pages, and so many truths to unpack and learn that I find that with each read, I am different and am able to accept some ideas and steps more openly.

I did really like this book. I primarily picked it up due to it's cover (I know) and for the author. It wasn't super relevant for me at the moment, but I still took a lot of value from it and like knowing that it is there if ever I need to turn back to it.

One concept that interested me, and that I don't totally agree with is the idea that every person, no matter how heinous and hateful the crime they have committed, is a good person underneath it all. It just doesn't jive with all of the research about true sociopaths who don't think like others do, and have no remorse or moral compass.

A beautiful guided journey through why we should forgive and how to do it in a way that helps us heal from the past and make a better future. Every chapter comes with meditations, journaling prompts, and other practices that can help readers put it into practice, and the concepts are illustrated through beautiful first-person accounts. My main takeaway was that it is vital for each of us to recognize the humanity in ourselves and each other if we want to create a better world and not repeat the sins of the past.

This is a MUST READ for EVERYONE. No matter your religion, background, profession, you will benefit from even one chapter. I checked it out from my library, but I am buying for my personal bookshelves.

*I highly recommend the audio, because his voice is so beautiful.
