Great beginning to the series. I really enjoyed the world building. It felt very detailed but not overwhelming. The chemistry between the main characters was also great. Was Elara bit naive? Definitely.  But, I feel like it’s  justified based on her upbringing. The “plot twist” was sort of predictable but enjoyable nonetheless. I especially like how it was revealed.

yeah yk this was pretty good. literally like 3/4 of it was just the 2 mc's walking through the forest so there were a handful of times where I did get bored, but not for long! this is 100% a masterpiece in my unprofessional opinion. idk I just liked it and the writing is good. it also only took me a single day to read it so for me it was a good sit down comfort read iykwim

i flew through this book. like i literally read it in a few hours (but given the book is relatively short im not all that surprised). anyway this was easy to follow, the world buidling was good, i very easily understood the magic system as it was elaborated on throughout the book. the writing style was familiar feeling, if that makes sense, and it was overall comfy and easy to read.

I'm surprised about just how much similarities I saw between this and acotar (we all know that thats mostly only because my life revolves around acotar but whatever)

like the main city (I cant remember the name) is giving me velaris vibes and we have off brand Rhys and Cassian lol (I mean this in a good way) and then there's also a character named cerridwen (anyone else remember her from acomaf?) idk.

but don't get me wrong it certainly doesn't take away from the story but anyway back to the point

to be fair i dont even know when this book came out so for all i know this technically couldve been published before acotar but im just pointing out similarities.

any whom I loved this book and I will definitely be getting my hands on a copy of the second book soon!

I devoured this - the pacing was good, the characters and the story are interesting. I got sucked in. One thing to change - it felt pretty predictable at times
