Dead Boy Dectives follows literal dead boys Charles and Edwin as they investigate their own murders and attempt to prevent another from experiencing a similar fate.
I was initially pretty excited about this series since the Dead Boys are characters from the Sandman universe. Alas, there's little of the magic that makes the source material so great in this spin-off. The pacing is very awkward and the plot feels disjointed and confusing, even though the premise is relatively simple. It's not a terrible comic series, it's just not all that great, either. I doubt I'll be checking in with the future installments.

I enjoyed these stories. We are introduced to two boys who are dead and they go around solving mysteries. They died at a boarding school and they go back to the haunted torture chamber and clear out the old ghosts. I think there are basically 3 stories in this volume.

The art is decent, it is more on the horror side, gothic and macabre. I will continue on.

Nice continuation/spinoff from their appearance in the 'Sandman' trades, but there wasn't quite enough to keep me around for future trades.
