I’ve never read a Mary Higgins Clark book (or a Carol Higgins Clark book, for that matter), and I’m not sure I really feel the need to read another. Entertaining and funny, but nothing really wowed me.

Another good book by the mother/daughter team. The storyline was not as interesting as some of their other Christmas capers, but it still held my interest.

Pas vraiment de suspense... Ni de découvert. Un peu ennuyeux en fin de compte.

I started reading Mary Higgins Clark in middle school, twenty years later I still enjoy her books. This one was a little predictable.

My first Mary Higgins Clark novel. I'm glad to see that this isn't one of her best.
This is one of her later novels, that she co-wrote with her daughter, Carol. Perhaps that had an effect on her writing? The story centers on a new cruise ship that is doing a charity sailing just after Christmas, including many Santa-impressionists. The big mystery is some missing santa costumes, the sighting of a man who looks like a dead criminal, and a few other minor things... Overall, the characters weren't that interesting (even though it seems like Regan appears in other MHC novels?), and I wasn't invested in the plot. There's a big "twist" at the end, that I didn't expect - mostly because it made the main characters seem pretty naive. There weren't any memorable quotes from this one.
Audiobook notes: The book was narrated by Carol, Mary's daughter - which seemed to fit well with the writing.

This time of year I am always interested in a few Christmas books. I can't help myself. They may be cheesy, they may be fast reads, and they may not be the best writing, but I thoroughly enjoy them.
While I am not the biggest Mary Higgins Clark fan lately, I do enjoy her books that include lottery winner Alvirah Meehan. This was no exception. Not the best story, but still entertaining and a very quick read. I read this book in two days while recovering from a winter cold.
