I have read survivor books and text books about the Holocaust for 40 years. But this book is nothing like anything I have ever read before. Miklós Nyiszli describes Auschwitz like a science report, we are spared no details, he made sure to see everything so he could testify to the world, if he survived. The book leaves you in utter shock, no matter how many books about the topic you have read before. I have only managed to read a few pages each day because it has left me traumatized and with nightmares.
