very well written with an amazing flow between different events. explores regular issues teenagers face, issues adults face (especially women), and provides all sides of multiple stories.

I don't know what took me so long to read this book! Absolutely stunning writing. The true questions of what makes one a mother and what makes one a daughter are the core of this book.

I enjoyed reading this when I was reading it, but when I wasn’t I didn’t think about it or anything. I just felt like the the first 60% nothing happened and I was wondering what the point of this was. I did enjoy the characters, but I did keep getting some of them confused(mostly Lexie and Izzy). I did not like the ending tbh.

This book is the stunning story of families, and the complex relationships within and between them.

We follow a mother-daughter duo who move into a small conservative town, onto a house rented out by a complex family with many issues and children. It also follows the plot of a custody battle connected to these families.

I loved how this book was formatting, and though it could be confusing at times, the way the story was told through multiple perspectives and timelines was so interesting to me. I loved how complex each character was, how you couldn't help but sympathize with and dislike every single character over the course of the book. Izzy in particular was a favourite of mine, but of course so was Mia

I also thought this book grappled with racism in such a subtle yet powerful way that I hope the message will reach and impact a larger audience that would previously be semi-unaffected. I really enjoyed it

PG-13
