Religious subjects aside, this book was rich with potential but just ends up being a poorly written book with boring plots and boring characters. Truly don’t understand how it sold so many copies.

Rereading the series. A bit dated now (published in the mid-90s), but still a good story.

Oh my. I knew going into this this that the writing was terrible. I was not prepared for the reality. This is hands down the most unintentionally funny book I have ever read. The dialogue was epically bad. Also, apparently Christians are not productive or useful members of society because when they all disappear, THE WORLD GOES ON AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED!!! No labor, food or utility shortages - NOTHING! And poor Hattie. She might be the dumbest character in all of literature. Don’t even get me started on the ending. It was THAT bad.

This book literally traumatized tons of fundie kids who thought this delusional future was going to be real one day. It's basically mass hate against anyone who isn't a christian and worshiping Jesus. Save yourself and skip it.

I TRIED THREE TIMES, BUT COULD NOT GET THROUGH THIS BOOK! I LIKED THE IDEA OF THE BOOK! THE RAPTURE, but the writting was little too be desired. It was very repetative, and it dragged on and on without going anywhere. I also kept forgetting who was who with the main characters. The most information that was given was wearhwe or not they believed in Jesus and or if there family believed in Jesus. THERE WAS NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AT ALL.
Few times I will give up on a book and this is one of them.
