update: That was honestly the most fun I've had reading a book in a while.. it did not make the sequel sin of not really having a reason to exist. I got to read about the characters I knew and loved (for the most part) as the story from the last book continued. what marked these books as great to me is that even though it needs to be a series to answer all the questions, they're strong novels on their own and I don't feel like I'm being strung along. In regards to this book alone, it had me reacting out loud at so many moments that I decided I couldn't read it in public. There were intense moments throughout the whole book and it never once felt like it was dragging along. now that ENDING (no spoilers) was cruel Miss Deonn.... there were parts of it that I respect bc a happy ending would've made 0 sense and I would've disliked that on principle BUTT the very last choice bree makes confused me a little and i hope to see an explanation in her motivations in the last installment of the series.

Trying to review this book in a coherent manner is eluding me. It was everything, I am left distraught and the fact that a third book is yet to be announced has me fearful. I require answers!
If you enjoy books with complex characters, angst ridden love triangles, intricate plots and raw emotions - then you have to read this series. I fell in love with Legendborn and Bloodmarked does not disappoint.
