I really enjoyed this highly recommended book, the audiobook is excellent. It's very engaging. I listened to it on a warm day and was craving iced tea. I love the recipes at the end. I can't wait to read more in the series.

DNF - The first chapter had so much weight-shaming and cringe-worthy statements (honey isn’t sugar?) I just couldn’t keep going.

Live and Let Chai is set in a seaside town, and this time we are following iced tea shop owner, Everly Swan, who must solve the murder of a prominent town member, when he is found dead. Not only that, but a mason jar from her store is found next to him, and everyone assumes that he was poisoned by one of her teas and she loses business. However, she will also have to butt heads with the new detective in town who announced that the victim was poisoned to the whole town. This was another great cozy mystery, and I can't wait to continue with the series just as soon as I can get the next book in the series. I loved Everly and how she is a sort of everywoman compared to some other cozy mystery sleuths. I enjoyed watching the mystery unravel and who the culprit was. Bree Baker definitely kept me on my toes while reading, but in the best way!

I picked up this first book in a relatively new mystery series at the library because I needed a Book With a Pun in the Title for the 2020 Pop Sugar Reading Challenge. It was a lighthearted mystery I enjoyed the setting in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, especially since I just vacationed there last summer. Everly is likeable (if a bit ditzy) and I will probably read the next book to see what happens with her and the intriguing Detective Grady Hays. My only complaint is the book could have used better editing. Everly is supposed to be almost thirty, and a seems not to have seen her best friend since high school, but her backstory only includes an unfinished culinary arts degree and a brief romance with a rodeo cowboy. Surely that didn’t take twelve years?? Maybe we find out more in future installments.

The setting was fun, but Everly got on my nerves more than once. I found myself telling her to just listen to the cop and butt out so often. I might pick up the rest of the series for the setting alone, but I'm not sure yet.

Solid cozy... The MC isn't terrible but I don't love her so I'm kinda on the fence about finishing series

A great start to the series. I've fell in love with Charm. I absolutely love the dynamics between Everly and Grady and can't wait for more of them.
