This was a cute & fun beauty and the beast retelling. There were parts that I really enjoyed, but some of it felt more YA than adult which was fine, but I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if it was more adult (it is Disney, so I get it, but still). I also found some of the dialogue and relationship progression a little awkward at times. But overall it was a cute book and I loved the bookish setting!

A contemporary rom-com that pairs a wide-eyed book lover who wants more than a provincial life as an editor's assistant and a Hollywood bad boy with a beastly case of writer's block. It'll tick a lot of boxes for a lot of readers — Disney's Beauty and the Beast fans will have fun spotting all the references in this modern nod to the classic, fans of sweet and swoony romance will love the couple dynamic (and the A+ apologizing and healthy, respectful boundaries), and readers who can't get enough books set in and around the publishing world will enjoy the peek behind the scenes (and the legit writing advice!).
