A short novella featuring various voicemails from various characters. Including a ton from a certain boy who got dumped by Magnus and who is, along with his sister, trying to get Magnus to notice him and take him back. Along the way we also read other voicemails. And then at the end there is something else. It was quite fun to read. Sure, I still needed to read Bane Chronicles 4 to 10, but I already knew that Magnus and Alec would end up in one way or another.

Actual Rating: 4.5

This was hilarious. The voicemails were awesome. Izzy was calling Magnus like every few hours. I loved how everyone especially Jace, Izzy, Clary, and Simon were trying to convince Magnus to contact Alec. I think I lowered the rating because Malec had broken up. I did laugh when I read the part of how he broke his cell phone. Overall, an amazing read.

for some reason, my review of this disappeared lol but if I recall correctly, it was something like this:

Entirely irrelevant and boring. Doesn't add anything to the characters or overall narrative.

I don't typically read many novellas, but this Shadowhunter series is fantastic! It deepens the Shadowhunter world, answers lingering questions from City of Heavenly Fire, and explores Magnus Bane's intriguing past and present. Fans will love the rich backstory and character development.
