I have a hard time giving these sort of books ratings. It was entertaining and comedic, but the lessons and advice seemed pretty generic. That being said, I feel like some things you just need to hear a certain way to get it to resonate and I think I was able to get that for some pieces.

This was a fun book, but I wish there was a bit more about the science of stress/coping mechanisms in the writing. The author is pretty funny, though, and I thought a lot of his family stories were cute.

Started strong but then it lost me. Most of the book was personal anecdotes completely unrelated to managing stress.

Great read! I have PTSD and lots of anxiety and this book really helped me out. I think the author really tries to keep everything realistic and I feel like he' not trying to talk at me or say "if you'd just do this you'll be fine" he knows there's stress -everywhere- but he's helping us cope with it.

It was ok, quite a lot of personal stories and a repeat of why the author never gets stressed which wasn't particularly helpful. There were some helpful bits in there but if you want a book on stress management I think there are better books out there!

Hard going unfortunately. Some moments of humour made me keep going

I picked up this book entirely on a whim when it was shown to me as a "Big Library Read". As someone with a diagnosed anxiety disorder, stress and methods to cope with said stress are a large part of my life.
I really enjoyed the balance of the book - which I suppose comes from the author being both a doctor and a comedian. King did a great job of presenting the science in a way that was accessible and not at all overwhelming, as well as providing advice in a way that wasn't too preachy or over the top. While much of the content I already had a working knowledge of, I still walked away with some usable tips and some new information. 3.5 stars rounded to 4.

Some reminders about how to best deal with stress. I grew weary of the traffic and bear examples. Some good thoughts (which most of us have heard before), lots of personal stories (which is fine). I did find the part on sleep apnea interesting because I think there needs to be more awareness and education on the issue of good sleep and how not getting enough quality sleep really can affect us.
