Sara Linton is a certified badass. I loved her right from the moment she was introduced in Will's series, so I knew I had to go back and finish this one to understand her character better—and I'm so glad I did.

Reading this book mostly just made me angry. The story was fantastic, but the things done to the women in it were rage-inducing. I don’t know why I thought going back to the beginning with this author’s books would mean the descriptions would be any less horrific. If anything, they’re just as intense, maybe even worse, in some areas. But it’s the characters and their stories that keep me hooked. Going into this, I had complicated feelings about Jeffrey since I already knew where his story ended, but I was surprised at how much I actually liked his character. He wasn’t what I expected him to be at all, and that's going to make it hurt all the more when I reach the final book in this series. As for Lena, I totally understand why she'd be considered a controversial character. She has her moments, and I'm still not sure how I feel about her. I can't wait to see how her character evolves from here!

Well written and very thrilling but to grafik for me. Huge triger warnings for this one. Absolutely disgusting teams and scenes. Heavy subjects. I had to skip over alot in the second half of the book. It was just to much for me. So I just skimmed the last pages. Not worth it in my opinion. Do not recommend. And I usely like mystery, some grafik description and can stumek alot of things.

I was not expecting there to be as much gore and horror like scenes in this book as there were and they definitely took me by surprise. I liked the interplay between Sara and Jeffrey but I didn't particularly warm to any of the other characters, especially Lena who I found quite one dimensional. Reading this on 2024 you can feel the age of this book with references made to the town's views on African Americans and gay people. I found the connection between the killer and Sara to be a loose one and it didn't feel very convincing, but I didn't see it coning at least!

This book is very graphic. I'm not sure I was aware of that. I liked the story but the details brought stars down because I just wasn't prepared.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series! Her writing just absolutely sucks you in despite the disturbing scenes throughout. What a great story combo of romance, thriller, mystery and horror. Really enjoyed it!
