I really enjoyed this. It was too intense for me right now, so I won’t continue the series. I will probably pick this up again and read the whole series when I have more space in my head.

4 stars only because of this very slow start. It took me so long to figure out what’s going on. Reminding me a lot of Hogwarts house sorting, the Hunger Games‘ war and killing but once the story really took off - holy something, what a masterpiece. I‘m already sure the second book is going to top this one, so looking forward to continuing Darrow‘s journey!

Intense. I wouldn’t shelve with YA. Like…makes the Hunger Games seem gentle.
