This book has confused me…
I love dark fantasy - & why choose (where they have to work for it / slow burn) which is what this book technically is. I feel like it has a lot of potential & the writing is good, but I’m just not sure how I feel about it now that it’s over.
The FMC being quite young & the bully romance aspect are usually a no go for me - especially with the age gap.
The fact that there is on page SA in the first few chapters is also a no go… but I kept pushing through & did manage to finish it. (SA is over quickly will minimal description)
I kept feeling like there was going to be more, that it would all start to make sense. But in the end I’m still a bit confused about how to feel. I don’t hate it… but I also don’t feel like I’m rushing to continue.
I listened on audio & personally felt like the narrator sounded too young - & with this being a why choose I’m not sure her voice will be able to win me over with the MMC’s.
Also there better be some major grovelling with the men because they are pretty shit to her! But I did like how the FMC was really showing a back bone & some tenacity at the end
Ultimately I still want to see where this story is going though…? I think??
