Hilarious! Mo Willems is a genius.

This would be fun to pair with [b:Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great|16250904|Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great|Bob Shea|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1374215373s/16250904.jpg|22292082] for books on how people perceive one another.

This book is a great way to start conversations about bullying and misunderstandings. the children in the pre-k class love these books and start to read them out loud to one another.

Had some interesting conversations with several teachers who purchased this book at our school book fair. One talked about how her son loved reading it over and over and over again, and we talked about the way it wasn't Piggie's ball to begin with.

Not my favorite Elephant and Piggie book, but you know that these characters are real when your five-year-old says, "Hey look, there's Piggie yelling. Usually it's Gerald that yells real loud."

My EFL students loved this one. Of course they thought the pictures were hilarious, but they especially enjoyed being able to read the story without my help.

This is my third Elephant & Piggie book and I am just noticing the text bubbles are color coded for each character! Love that small detail. Once again, the facial expressions make a huge impact for young readers. This is a great story about perspectives and friendships. Definitely one I would want in my own classroom of young readers.
