Yes, I will finish the entirety of these trashy novels and thoroughly enjoy them, even though, they make little to no sense. I don't know what it is about this series that makes me love it so much despite its flaws, especially, the fact that the story is ALMOST EXACTLY the same in every book. I guess that's the Laura Thalassa magic.
So like I said, there's little difference between books. The main point is always the same. There's a Horseman of the Apocalypse that falls in love with a strong-willed human woman (for some reason or another), who convinces him, primarily with sex, to stop bringing about the Apocalypse (his divine purpose) and give humanity a second chance (which I guess is what God wants since just keeps happening

Just like with the first book in this series, reading this while there is the Isreal/Palestine conflict going on right now felt just a bit too real to me. Still, the book itself is enjoyable, I like that the FMCs of these books aren't immediately falling in love with the MMCs they make them work for it. It's a breath of fresh air in comparison to other books where it's clear it's instant love.
I liked the inclusion of an angelic language, even though it's a mix of multiple ancient languages, it separates War from the rest of the humans. I was not the biggest fan of the abundance of zombies, which turned me off, however being as intrigued about the other brothers as I am, I will be reading the next book.

By far my least favorite of the series - there was just so much flip flopping between War and Miriam. I appreciated that they were both far more mature and gutsy than the other pairs but found it hard to keep up with when they reneged on their feelings every other chapter. Specifically how she kept running away. And the very shallow ways she decided to use her body. Eh.

I’m loving this series! This is 4.5 stars. This is a true enemies to lovers. Not a tender love story. What would you expect from War, after all?

This would’ve been three stars if there wasn’t surprise morning sickness and the resulting kid….. also wish the middle 60% was compressed a bit

I really didn’t connect with Miriam or War, like I did Pestilence and Sara. There was something about the full throttle desire and wanting at 50% of the book that was just very off putting to me. Also Miriam is hella fucking annoying, all the flip flopping and just eye fucking War, describing his out of this world beauty was just cringe. In Pestilence, I was all for Sara trying to stop Pestilence but Miriam did so at the devastation of those around her. War legit tells her not to defy him, she does and boom people die not once not twice, A BUNCH OF TIMES. Yeah he starts to change but the dude was falling for her so damn fast that it just read like an AI story at some point… to be honest, they are starting to feel like AI… or maybe the AI is just pulling the same common things from books like these.
Major gripe, the whole humanity doesn’t deserve this. Bitch if they didn’t, the apocalypse wouldn’t be happening. I just need one of these heroines to have some common sense to that. No, Miriam just thinks everyone is innocent and self righteous like she is, DESPITE her having killed people prior to meeting War. And then she has the NERVE, to be all up on War for his task.
Also what is it with this author and baths and kissing after throwing up. It was in the last book and in this one. Like what the actual hell. I swear, if I see “He pushes a strand of hair behind her ear” one more f**king time. I’m going to lose it!!
The plot is the same as the last, going to city to city. FL tries to convince ML to spare humans for the entire book until the end. It’s a wash, rinse, repeat. Still going to the next one though. I swear, Famine better be better than War.
