I guess it's good for the age of reader it's written for. I didn't love it, but I'm definitely not the target audience. I listened to it on audio, though, and I couldn't stand the baby voice the author kept using. It was obnoxious.

As a kid this was my absolute favorite book in the Magic Tree House Series & also I was /so surprised/ by the ending

This one was actually pretty good. I was not to happy with how it ended but it wasn't horrible. I will be excited to get out of the Merlin series. These seem so much different than the original books.

I read this because I've never read any of the series before. I can see the appeal for Grades 2-3. This one had a great deal of history tie-ins, nice for making connections, reading across the curriculum.

just enough intrigue and mystery to keep my six year old son listening.
