Okay, so no big surprises here: Gwen dies on the very first issue, and the rest of the volume primarily deals with Peter's pain and emotions. Quite frankly, it's a volume I would recommend not just to Spider-man fans, but also as an excellent introduction to Peter and his world, as we see most of his friends and enemies: Gwen, MJ, Harry, the Vulture, and the Green Goblin.

As it is an old issue, its artwork may feel a bit peculiar; the colours are too bright, and it definitely lacks the almost too-perfect precision of newer volumes. However, I found this exact brightness and colourfulness to match the intensity of the volume and its heavy on the storytelling side. I also really enjoyed the panels by the writer, where events were explained or recapped, as they made the entire volume read more like a full-on story.

Of course, as it is a volume of many issues, some are better than the others. Overall, it was a volume with an extremely powerful beginning and ending, whose middle parts were a tad bit more boring or mundane in comparison. Still an enjoyable, worthy of your time read.
