Well, it was certainly a book. About a young girl that lives in a strange society. Then she encounters a wizard, and she'll have to make choices. Will she help him, or let him die? Will the wizard get the treasure of the Tombs? Does it matter? All in all an interesting exercise of worldbuilding and perception, cleverly written, that is obviously meant to a younger audience than I. The last chapters do drag a fair bit in my opinion.

I have enjoyed reading the first two Earthsea books as an adult. The themes contained in them are much richer than you would expect for a kids book. The values they expound much better than you'd find in a kids book today.

The core, that light can overcome dark through a woman overcoming her fear and trusting a mysterious man is heartening in our current age of gender war.

"It was ok".

Good, better than the first in the series, but I love a dungeon delve so I'm a little biased.
