This book is so good. Another favorite of the year. It's rich, textured, deeply emotional, funny and evocative. There is so much and more in this book. You will feel triumphant, you will cry and you will feel immense pain for the personal and political struggles the characters - and their real-life foils - were subjected to.

A beautifully written decade-spanning tale of five Uruguayan women during the dictatorship, which forced many into silence, and these women especially, as queer women. They create their own safe haven together first in an isolated seaside town, and later, back home in Montevideo. Happy pride month

I loved this book so much. Captivating and emotional while also portraying a time and place in history that was new but familiar to me.

Reading this book is like living five lives at once. De Robertis creates a engaging experience as she seamlessly weaves the narratives of five wildly, empowering, queer women.
