Didn't manage to get very far through this book, but from what I did read, it didn't hold my interest or intrigue me in any way. A shame!

This goes straight to my favourite books ever, and my only regret is that I haven't read it sooner. The way Waltari uses the Finnish language is lovely and occasionally hilarious, and his character building is fantastic. I especially loved how balanced the book is regarding the characters' genders since it has both strong women and men. Waltari manages to capture ancient Egypt's atmosphere and culture very nicely, especially considering his cultural background. Very philosophical and even sneakily teaches you quite a lot of ancient history on the way. Very glad I finally decided to pick up this classic.
