I read a review (after finishing) that said that it felt like reading 470 pages. And that was pretty bang on imo (which was also pointed out) in the sense that so much happens regarding root- and restlessness and the chance meetings and the situations we find ourselves in especially when we step outside our doors - and go far and mainly also go somewhere unknown. I did find the first part the longest. But not necessarily in a bad sense but it’s sort of hard to explain. The self-reflecting is strong and we are really on this literal and mental journey with him. Really enjoyed part two. Part three was different but still about interrelationships and all which they entail. And always about self-reflection.
I didn’t like that the authors name was used as it gave an autobiographical/memoir feel to it. Just my opinion (as put me off a bit with Lie With Me as well bc then it’s not really fiction anymore), I just don’t know why it couldn’t just be a random (to the reader) name. But anyway, very much looking forward to getting to The Promise now. The writing style was giving page-turner (mainly post part one imo).
