per my spreadsheet:

Page one made me cry. This does not seem good 16% in and it’s still fucking BRUTAL .

okay this book was both brutal and enjoyable. would recommend.

spice 🌶  - a 4 🌶  spicy (romance.io scale)
length - just right
reading speed - read in 3 days
did it make me cry? - too damn much.

Cade Jennings. This is my favorite read of 2024 this far.

I loved the angst and the dual time line. Even with the emotional losses in this book there was always hope and Cade and Marigold are just made for each other.

AHHHH!! I LOVED CADE AND MARE SO MUCH!!!

This second-chance romance had me swooning! The undeniable connection between Cade and Mare was so easy to see. In the before timeline when things were just getting started and in the present timeline they both tried their best to deny their feelings. Seeing their story slowly come together and learning about their past was such a beautiful journey!

I loved seeing their growth and their learning how to fight for what they wanted. Their first falling out happened when they were both so young, so it was understandable why their communication skills weren't the best. Even so, I do wish there was a bit less of the miscommunication (or lack of it). It did make me happy to see how much they were able to grow in their time apart, and seeing how much they really meant to each other throughout the years.

Overall, such a great read that balanced all the emotions! I was so happy with how everything worked out in the end and I am so excited for book 2!
