Fun, cute, easy read. Romance was there but didn't drive the plot, which is refreshing.

A cute story of a young woman going through a quarter life crisis and an older woman looking for a new adventure. I loved the growth that Lena (the granddaughter) did in this book. I also found Ilene’s (the grandmother) adventures in London so funny and charming! I hope to be as active as her when I’m 70. If you’re looking for a sweet, quick read, I would recommend this! A bit of romance, drama, and a lot of family love.

I like that O’Leary’s books (at least the two I’ve read) add a psychological element. It makes the book more interesting, more grounded, less fluff. This one still does rely on a misunderstanding a bit too long, which happens a lot in these types of books, but it was an enjoyable way to pass some time.

I don’t have much else to say about this book. It’s told by two narrators, who alternate chapters, resulting in rather a lot of characters - but somehow I found it wasn’t that hard to keep track, and in moments where I couldn’t remember someone, it didn’t really matter. It worked well that way.

It lacked the surprise gravitas that I found in The Flat Share, but it met expectations for a fun, light read with a couple surprises.

A very lovely read by this author, as always. Fleshed out dual perspective and I loved the family aspect for this one.

I had high hopes for this book, and it did not disappoint!

I’ve never felt this connected to characters, it felt like I actually knew them and lived among them.
I love how we meet all these different people trough both Leena and Eilleen’s eyes and grow to love them more and more.

The slow burn(s) is definitely slow, but so so good and so worth it!

Also, this was my first time crying over a book, lol.
Definitely a new favourite book, and it will be hard to ever find a better one❤️

this one was a cute and nice enough read but nothing exceptional, really. it was kinda boring sometimes and felt a little too slow-paced for me from time to time. the idea for the story is quite intriguing, though, and i found myself liking grandma eileen's story a tad better than leena's because it was much more exciting and i felt there was going on more. what a great character, this old lady. nevertheless, the story lacked some kind of action and idk, it just wasn't my sort of book, or at least not at the moment. still cute.

I kept kinda waiting for something to happen. It does by the end, which earned the 4th star instead of just 3. It also made me really miss my grandma. All around a good book, albeit slower than my preferred pace.
