Siren’s Song by Mary Weber is the third book in The Storm Siren trilogy and if you haven’t started this series yet you need to remedy this immediately. First, these covers are gorgeous and some of my favorites…ever. Second, the story that Weber has developed over the course of these three books had me on the edge of my seat and just waiting for the next book so I could find out what was going to happen next. If you haven’t read these books yet, you might want to hold off on reading my review further. I will do my best not to give anything away but can’t promise anything.
This book picks up shortly after Siren’s Fury ends. Now that Nym has faced off with Draewulf she and Eogan know they need to warn Cashlin’s queen about what is going on. As Weber sets this story up for the final face off to determine who will come out on top in the end, we get a lot more information on the Uathúils and we also get to see Nym jump into her role as a leader…and do well.
Nym continues to grow throughout this series and the thing that stood out for me the most in this book is the way she flourishes in her role as someone who can lead her people. As she comes face to face with her past (literally) she realizes she has the strength inside herself to be what her people needs and this isn’t just because of her power.
The relationship between Nym and Eogan takes some steps forward which I have been waiting for. Nym knows that Eogan is what she wants but there is still some hesitation on Eogan’s part. At times he pulls back which was frustrating but it’s always to protect Nym and doesn’t have anything to do with his feelings for her. He truly does love and care about her and I loved the way this was tied into the overall story because although the relationship is a big part of who these characters are, it doesn’t become the whole story.
As the cast of supporting characters help to move the story along, there are a few that stand out as my favorites. Kel is definitely one of them and of course there are Myles and Rasha. I can’t say much about what happens with them but this story wouldn’t be the same if they weren’t included. There are others as well and admittedly, the entire cast of characters help to push the story forward but these three have a special place in Nym’s heart and my head.
The last few chapters of this book had me turning the pages to see what was going to happen and I have to say, I was not disappointed. Weber ties this story together really well and as a series, while I will miss the characters, everything felt right. I’m not going to say anything about anything but trust me, if you love this series, you won’t be disappointed by what happens.
Hopefully this wasn’t too vague for anyone wondering what happens. If you know my reviews, you know I don’t like to spoil anything so apologies if this didn’t provide enough detail for anyone. With that said, take my word for it that if you are looking for a great YA fantasy, you should be reading this series. It has something for everyone and will take you on a ride you might not expect. I look forward to whatever Mary Weber has in store for us next and will be recommending this series to anyone and everyone.

I have been having trouble thinking about how to review this book. The problem: This is the first time I have ever added the last book in a series to my favorite shelf without adding the previous books. I usually add the first book and then the series starts to lose steam so I don't add the others.The first two books has its share of problems. I was especially annoyed at how dense Nym was in the second book. I mean, when is it ever a good idea to get powers from an evil looking witch even though everyone with common sense is warning you not to? Duh!But this conclusion though. It has an epic resolution, a satisfying romance, and our heroine finally becomes the well-rounded savior that her country badly needed. Her willingness to sacrifice for those she loved sets her apart from the political snobs around her. This book is everything I was hoping for.... (Nicolas Cage voice) That's high praise!

I'm always nervous going into final books, thanks so much for that permanent scar on my soul, Book That Shall Not Be Named, that starts with A, ends with T, but was written by Veronica Roth.
I started SIREN'S SONG, made it a few chapters in and had to set it aside. Because stress. I repeated this cycle several times over the course of a week, until finally, finally, I put my big girl booknerd socks on (you know, the ones that look like old school library cards) and made myself finish it. I'm SO GLAD I did.
SIREN'S SONG had everything I was looking for in a final installment: action, adventure, romance and swoon. It also held a few surprises that I REALLY COULD HAVE DONE WITHOUT, LIKE CHAPTER 41 OKAY, MARY WEBER? *sighs* Okay, so I kindofsortaknew something was going to happen, but still. I don't like pain.
I loved that Nym and Eogan got to spend the bulk of the book together, instead of only the last few chapters. It made their relationship believable. NGL, I really enjoyed the kissing scenes. As with the two previous books, the side characters were a lot of fun too. Except for Isobel. That girl and her father made me stabby.
It's always nice to come to the end of a series and feel a mix of satisfaction and longing. I'm satisfied with how this ended, but I could always read more. I'm looking forward to what Mary Weber comes up with next!

My first thought finishing this book was, “how in the world am I supposed to write a review for this book?” I don’t know how to give this trilogy justice with mere words. This achingly beautiful, reverently hopeful, and downright stunning finale had me both sniffling and laughing with SO MANY FEELS. My little sister literally stood next to me cracking up because I was going crazy. Hmph. Well, she’ll understand when she reads it.
In this finale to the Storm Siren Trilogy, Nym has once again just been defeated by evil shapeshifter Draewulf, barely escaping with her life. Torn down and wearied, she feels hopeless as to how he will ever be defeated. With her abilities returning and Eogan healing from Draewulf’s presence, Nym must go across the Hidden Lands and try to form a plan to save the world from the monster. But the question still remains. How will Nym defeat him, and even if she can, what will it cost her and those she loves?
“Your true ability is what I’ve always said it was. Your compassion and desire to protect. That is what you’ve extended to these people. It’s what you’ve given them. And that is why they’ll follow you.”
Mary Weber has done it again! Brought us a story that magically transports us to another world, leaving us breathless and hungry for more. She literally could not have written a better or more satisfying ending to this gorgeously captivating trilogy. As I was reading and marvelling at the beauty of her work, I couldn’t help but want to pick up the first book and start all over again. This is a story, you guys. A story of hope, love, and fighting for what is right despite impossible odds. This is what YA fantasy should be. Every single character–Nym, Eogan, Kel, Rasha, Myles, Sedric…I loved them. Nym was so strong and stubborn and Eogan made my heart melt, always looking out for everyone else. In fact, everything about this book was so beautifully done. Even the author’s note at the end had me tearing up.
Fans of this much-loved trilogy will not be disappointed with this epic finale! I can’t help but be sad that it’s over. But I know that whenever I want to relive the hopeful and loving emotions I felt with these books, I can pick them up again. I feel like there is so much more I should say, but I don’t want to overwhelm you all. I sincerely hope I properly conveyed to you guys my feelings for this book. My final words on it can only be this – go read it. You won’t regret it.

First of all I want to say that I love the covers for this entire series. So gorgeous! Secondly the writing is superb and just has this beautiful flow to it. Siren's Song is particularly interesting as now Eogan is back so we have romance again (yay!) and are also on the brink of war against Draewolf and his wraiths. The direction that Nym's powers take and the result on Eogan and other's as well has to be one of my favorite parts of the story. The ending line cracked me up too. The strange thing about these books for me is that I always enjoy them ( the first and last way more so than the second ) but for some reason they take me so long to read. Maybe it's the shear complexity of the story it's self or the fact that it just overwhelms me at times with so much going on and it takes so long to get to the points in which we know it's moving. Nevertheless I would definitely recommend this series as a whole ( not standalone material! ) for fans of action fantasy with a kick butt heroine, great world building, and some minor romance.

It took me a little longer to finish this one. Although it was an enthralling story when I put it down it didn't give my that urge to pick it up as soon as possible to finish another chapter. But once I did start reading I'll admit stopping was difficult. I'm so glad I read this book. The end to the series left me satisfied and I'm a sucker for romance. I really am glad I read this series. Thank you for writing it.
