We did all of these as family audiobooks and they were great. I'm not rating this final one, as my kids are pretty split on the ending and I don't want to give any spoilers to explain why.

I would highly recommend the series though!

This is now one of my favorite series. I'll be getting the hardback copies for my home collection.

Update: If you want to make one of your favorite books even better, read it aloud with your kids.

I enjoyed the series, and also was devastated by the ending.

Ok. Wow.
That ending hit me way harder than any ending I've ever read before.

I love how the book was cut into four sections that all had their own personal climaxes. And the plot twists were so good! I only saw one out of like four coming and even then it still surprised me.

Now the ending, without spoilers, was so heartbreaking, yet beautiful. And it really fit with the overall themes of the series: Courage, love, and sacrifice.

Even though the ending had me crying for like 5 minutes straight (crying at the end of almost every book was not what I expected coming into this series... Lol), I was starting to be content with what happened UNTIL THE EPILOGUE HAPPENED. I have, and always will, hate ambiguous endings. But this was just about the only time I've seen it done right. Though, a book 5 regarding that epilogue would be very nice
