This was SO good! I listened to it on audio, which was narrated by the author, and I HIGHLY recommend the audio! This book is a necessary read and was sectioned in a comprehensible chunks. Acho did a wonderful job putting difficult topics into perspective and I liked all the resources provided at the end of each chapter. This is an outstanding and relevant book that I will definitely be purchasing so that I can re-read it with a highlighter in hand!

Really appreciated how both actionable and direct this book is. The inclusion of resources at the end of every chapter and the fact that it really does feel like a conversation (as well as its brevity) make it a great first step (or in my case a reminder) of how to be effectively anti racist, recognize biases and talk to others about theirs.

If you’re looking for a book to introduce someone to anti racist ideas in a mostly non confrontational way, this might be a good book to start with. It didn’t bring anything new to the conversation for me after reading other books on anti racism, but it was an enjoyable, conversational read.
