I am predicting an award for this book, in some capacity, come ALA's Youth Media Awards. It's translated from another language (which I LOVE) as well as the illustrations speak for themselves!

Although the pictures are lovely, the book itself didn't do a lot for me. Could be a book for storytime though.

I read this book to my nieces. They enjoyed the pictures and learning about the farmer.

Paul is the farmer in this unique little picture book. What readers learn, most of all, is that Paul works hard on his farm while everyone else rests. However, in the very end, when Paul begins to despair, friends appear when he needs them most.
