While I had no memory of the previous books, reading this one made it all make sense again and I liked where it went. I liked the characters and the way the book ended. It was well written but I felt like the world/magic system could have been better written?
Minor: Body horror, Death, Blood, Religious bigotry, Gore, Death of parent, Injury/Injury detail, War, Murder, and Violence

The plot feels very confused, especially the ending, and a lot of revelations feel like they came out of no where/without the build-up the book seems to think there was. Not very good, and I’m glad I’m finally done with this circus.
I felt that Parijahan and Rashid didn’t get the development that they should’ve, and considering the author’s history that’s especially…bitter, I suppose? I still can’t be bothered to care about Nadya or Malachaisz.
Loved the “Malachiasz blunt force trauma” gag, though. Does it fit tonally? No. Is it funny? Yes.
Also begging authors that has foreign words in their books to have a glossary for them. It is distracting to not have any clue what they mean and no way to reference their meaning.

I did feel a bit lost with some stuff going on, but I did enjoy the story and I'm glad I finished it. - Full review maybe, but probably not.
** I know about the details about the author, but I bought the series before everything happened, and I wanted to finish the series. I am not acknowledgable about everything, so I would research on your own.**
