“That's life. You're always making decisions, taking paths that lead you away from the rest before you can see where they end. Maybe That's why we as a species love stories so much. All those chances for do-overs, opportunities to live the lives we'll never have. “

Another lovely escapist novel by Emily Henry. I’ll never not read her stories. The laughs, the tears, the witty and flirty banter between characters. It is everything I want and need from novels.

I liked this more than I expected to! I think Emily Henry writes “romances” that actually often hit hardest as late-20s coming of age stories: how to grapple with past emotional wounds within the dual career and family pressures of modern middle/upper-class white femininity. Which, yeah, not the most radical, but can make for an emotionally earnest story much beyond the basic romance arc. Like, I ended up really rooting for Nora and Charlie together. I loved the development and banter and believed in them.

The only thing I can say about this book is that it was PERFECT. I loved the character development and the journey they went on. I didn't see the ending coming at all, I just assumed it would be like every other relationship Nora had. I was surprised and in awe to say the least.

Queen Emily Henry has done it again….I was hooked within the first few pages, and absolutely devoured this book. Book Lovers had me smiling, laughing, emotional, contemplating, just all of the things. These books are so relatable, funny, heartwarming, reflective of the human experience - Emily Henry is just magic. Charlie may also now be my #1 Emily Henry love interest (sorry Gus)
