These are a nice step-up from the Little People, Big Dreams series by [a:Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara|14886582|Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1518331707p2/14886582.jpg] for kids who have outgrown those -- these are longer, for slightly more mature readers, but still have a similar look and feel to the Little People books.

This lovely little book is an easy read  guide of Maya Angelou and gives a snapshot to the timeline of her incredible life.

This book would be perfect for children wanting to learn about who she is and what she did for the Black community.

The illustrations are gorgeous and vibrant and the timeline at the back of the book is perfect. There is also a glossary at the back too, for any word that would be new to you, a nice touch.

I have one of her books on my to buy book list, and will be purchasing that very soon.

This book was an incredibly lovely read. I love reading children books that focus on educating them on great people that have impacted our history as human beings because I myself, as an adult, feel like I need to keep on checking myself and my privilege everyday, and these books sure help me do that. It was short yet concise. The illustration style was very unique and complementary to the story and overall aesthetic of the book.
