Where can I get myself one of these nisse that like doing chores for humans?

This was a cute book that started off with a fun bit of suspense, but then takes way too long to resolve. We meet a fun, mischievous nisse named Klakke early on, but then he is essentially pushed to the side for a conflict among other nisse who we meet much later.

Despite some repetitiveness, this was a fun book to read to kids on cold winter evenings.

This is a cute story about a family in Denmark who have a nisse (the Nordic word for a gnome) that gets disgruntled when a family emergency causes them to forget his Christmas Eve rice pudding. As someone who wishes that benevolent and minorly mischeivous fae folk actually existed, I found this book adorable. It would make a good Christmas/winter read aloud.

CC: baby sister gets kidnapped, the main character struggles with her first Christmas since her grandpa's death, magic, main character lies to her neighbors to keep them from finding out her baby sister got taken by a nisse
