I struggled with DCs story, it did give me context to her behaviour in the beginning but it felt like the first two books were condensed into 100 pages and written from her perspective. Jordan’s story gave me lots of feels and it was probably the best of the three. Bears story made me all sorts. I still enjoyed it and found it easy to read once I got past the first 1/3

Now all we need is a whole book from Niyx’s point of view. ALSO, did people recognise the references to Harry Potter and A Court of Thorns and Roses?

I enjoyed how the story line went through this, starting with DC before school up until her and Alex became friends, then starting with Jordan around then before moving onto Bear in a continuous timeline. However hearing about William once in the previous book was enough I didn't need to go through it again but, I did.

The thing that annoyed me about this was particularly the last Narrator. The first 2 were okay but the last one did voices for the teachers that did not match my thoughts at all, and don't even get me started on the way he voiced ALL off the females. This mostly annoyed me because the main series has one narrator who doesn't change their voice for other characters and it really took me out if the story every time I twitched over the high pitched shitty female voices he did. Not to mention the extra deep voices for every adult male.

Good story line though and I'm sure some of the info we learnt in this one will come to point in the final story.

I loved the deep dive you get into all the heroes and their experiences.

I loved the character development and seeing the relationships with themselves and others develop through this book.

I was kinda sad though unfortunately.
