After finishing Silver Shadows I was really unsure if this book was going to be able to stick the landing. I feel like there were just so many different threads and I just didn't know how Richelle Mead was going to include them all and wrap them up in a satisfactory way. Now, I do need to preface this by saying I can't say she really did that. I just think when it come to the big picture, world stuff the ball was definitely dropped. I feel like this book could have used a chapter or two more just to show the ramifactions of the bigger stuff play out a bit more. Oh, I'm trying so hard to say this without spoiling anything, and I'm failing.
However, this is a good book, and a good series finale. I was really engaged in this story, and I love how Richelle Mead kind of slowly throughout the book pulled in all those different threads. It felt like a natural build. I thought it made for a really engaging story as well. I also loved how she pulled in different side characters from all the books during this book. It was done in a way that didn't clutter the cast too much but still felt nice to see these people again.
This is also an amazing finale when it comes to Adrian and Sydney's personal storylines. They really went through so much in this series, and they've grown so much, and that's very obvious in this book. I also just loved the resolution to their story (as well as all of the side characters). It migth be a bit too rose coloured glasses for me but eh, they kind of deserve it. So in that sense I do feel like it was a good finale to this series.
