Fast paced, action packed, and amazing artwork.
For fans of the chapter book series, this will definitely be an epic experience.

For me, I found the different groups of bats a bit confusing, and I don’t like a lot of blood/gore (especially seeing images of it). This one wasn’t for me, but I can appreciate that lovers of this genre will enjoy it!

Reread of a childhood favourite! This was for nostalgia, so I can't give it a rating. The graphics added a really cool element to it. Especially when you think about the transmission of stories and us reading the story through imagery. The bats in the story told their stories through echolocation and sound waves which became visual (in the story). It also makes me think of how many Indigenous societies told stories orally for centuries until white settlers disrupted it here on turtle island. However, we see the same orality from the Illiad to Beowulf.

This was a fun, and quick, way to dive back into the Silverwing story. The art was fantastic, but the story occasionally felt disjointed at times. Interested to reread the actual novel to refresh my memory even more.

Absolutely adored this series as a kid. It was fun to revisit in a different format! But bats are also terrifying creatures and so I was a *lot* more intimidated reading the graphic over the novel!!!
