The Silverwing novel series was among my favourites growing up and I still reread them occassionally too. This is just fine as an adaptation. I think I would've found it quite confusing if I didn't know the story from the novels.
I also don't love the overall art style. They gave the bats human hair (especially noticable on the female bats), which looks ridiculous. I did like seeing a story I know so well illustrated though.

I loved this book as a kid, so I was super excited when I saw this graphic novel! Christopher Steininger's illustrations are perfect for bringing Shade's dark and suspenseful adventure to life. The story is highly reminiscent of The Rats of NIMH and Warrior Cats. I hope kids from this generation can love and enjoy this book as much as we did in the early 2000s!
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Animal death, Violence, and Blood
