Twisted and not in a good way. Lots of bad things happening to innocent kids. Twist at the end was good though, a happy ending at least

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for sharing and advanced copy of this book with me.

This book is the third book by Sally Hepworth that I have read. I haven’t been a thriller fan for along time, as I am kind of a scaredy cat. But something made me get into them earlier this year.

Sally Hepworth’s stories are very well put together, and she is fabulous with her character development. This book is no exception to that. They are also not predictable in my mind, and keep me at the edge of my seat. I didn’t see the twist coming at all.

I can’t believe that now I have to wait another year before her next book is out.

Fabulous!

I absolutely loved the story line! I did not love how it was written. A lot of skipping back and forth between so many characters and timelines. I found it very hard to keep straight who was who and what their background was. But the storyline had me hooked so I powered through and read it all. I usually read a book easily in 1 day but this one took me 4 because I just couldn’t get through parts of it. But the actual story was great and the last chapter definitely made my jaw drop!

I found this very easy to read and I like Sally Hepworth’s style. I also enjoy reading books set in Melbourne.
The characters were well developed and I enjoyed the twists. I think I was expecting this to be a little more unpredictable than it was though.
I was put off by some of the storyline though, and I think it’s just because I struggle to read about anything resembling child abuse, especially since becoming a Mum. But overall, it was well written and an easy to consume domestic thriller!
