Unlike the other two books, this one didn't have much of an actual story. It's crazy to me that this book was over 400 pages. It could have been a lot shorter, and it would have worked better. I did like both main characters, and their stories are both so sad. They work well together and are totally opposites of each other! It's so funny reading Bastien, lose it over how carefree Morina is. Opposites attract, and it's so obvious with these, too. While the story was boring, I really enjoyed reading about Morina and Bastien together.

I would rate this book 2.5 stars but I ended up rating 3 stars because I love the ocean, I feel Morina’s abandonment issues and I also understand and love Sebastian. I really wanted to give this book 5 stars just because the plot idea was actually really good and I loved the characters (I’m still a Cade girl) but the issue with this book is the plot is not developed! The Sebastian and Morina’s relationship wasn’t even a relationship until the very, VERY end after he saved her and Cade spoke with her. I wanted to know more about the business side, I wanted and needed more, all the action that happened towards the end of the plot like Sebastian murdering 2 guys …. there’s something missing… I wanted to see Sebastian taking more action like that at an earlier stage in the book… the last 30 pages felt so rushed and underdeveloped and that was where basically the whole plot started and ended. I wished I could have seen Sebastian and Morina incorporating their feelings for each other and try make their relationship work despite it all odds but their relationship just felt messy and all over the place. Like the song by Olivia Rodrigo ‘It's always one step forward and three steps back
Do you love me, want me, hate me? Boy, I don't understand’ and that’s literally their entire relationship throughout the whole book until the end! There’s also a lot of lose ends regarding the city, and the relationship Morina’s family had with the city? (I may have missed something in the first few chapters but I don’t know) and why didn’t Bradley answer his phone again or call Morina back when she did? And what about Linny? Anyways, now to the good part!

Sebastian… This man has the audacity to BE a Greek god! This man cooks for her and purposefully feeds her desert when she is questioning if he would actually be okay with taking her to the gala and proposing?!!?!? Because she thinks she isn’t as beautiful like the other girls from his world???

For a relationship that started with a one night stand this was WAY more of a slow burn than was necessary

i enjoyed it

This book was intriguing due to the fact that the main female character in the main male character we’re complete another opposites. The way the book started off I thought it was gonna go in a completely different direction than what it went. I enjoyed the character development and growth through the book. We all know someone who is like each character. The story is kinda slow burn. The book is told dual point of views.
