I understand the reason for the book and what the authors are trying to highlight, but I’m not at all ok with exposing my 12YO daughter to the language in this book or the high-school level social scene. It was assigned reading in her 7th grade literature class. I just think 7th grade is too young for this book.

Not as good as The Hate U Give, but still important and I like how it’s written by two authors, one black and one white.

This book is considered YA lit, but quite honestly it should be required reading for everyone. This book covers so many aspects of life. I will definitely tell folks to read this!
