I'm being real generous wit this 2. Like real , real generous wit it. Now I'm a sucker for smut as much as the next person , but the pacing is all over the place , everyone's attitudes was WAYYY too positive and understanding from what was being described. This is definitely one of those stories you turn your brain off and just enjoy. I want to love this book , a fantasy romance with a black female lead is a great find , but I simply can not get past the dubcon. If I'd fully understood what it meant before i checked it out I'm not sure I would've started. Is the story fast paced? Yes , but that's no excuse to not , at the bare minimum, make the consent MUCH more vocal and obvious. Please don't leave the very first sexual interaction between the main couple so ambigious in consent of all things. Feelings? Fine & dandy , but never consent to touch someone. This is a published story , not a Wattpad fanfiction.

At the very least , if you're gonna read try to find a physical copy. The cover art is BEAUTIFUL and what drew my attention in the first place. Shoutout to Alexia E. Pereira and Mike Pape for the hard work on it.

I liked everything. The book is well written, the characters are so nice and funny. The LI and the MC's sexual tension is through the roof. I couldn't stop giggling and at some times outright laughing.

Guys I think this might be my first 6 star in years. I am absolutely in love with this book, and the characters, and Kimberly's writing. I loved everything about this book, it was a perfect mix between insta love and slow burn. I love fallon, he might be my new favorite book boyfriend. I need to read the rest of this series immediately. I have not had a story that affected me as much as this one has in a long time. I feel like I will be thinking about this book (especially Fallon) for months

Very quick read, almost a novella. The story rattles along, and is all about adventures and not much else, except for the spicy scenes.

I really just think that this isn’t for me.
The modern dialogue felt out of place, but I wanted to try to get through more since it jarred me early in the book.
However, I just don’t care or understand the characters or the plot. I’m going to say that this is not my thing and move on to a book that I am excited to continue reading.
