New 52 sucks SO BADLY!! It's refreshing, but also painful that Green Lantern remains great, while the rest of the DC Universe languishes in mediocrity, at best, and outright offensive awfulness, at worst.

Simply put, Geoff Johns writes the best Green Lantern. He understands and creates the best Lantern worlds and characters. No one has done more for the Lantern mythos. Here, Blackest Night was just a prologue to what comes next. The one-note Indigo Tribe gets an amazing step in evolution and then the Black Hand/Guardians arc hits hard. The art is phenomenal, mostly by Doug Mahnke. Loved his work. Overall, a fantastic book.

Geoff Johns continues his masterpiece run on GL. The uneasy partnership between Hal Jordan and Sinestro continues. I won't give too many spoilers but go in with low expectations for the Black Hand part and you'll be fine.

Sinestro is bad-ass in this.

This was good, but it seems like there's a lot of history to this lantern stuff that is not in New 52. I thought this was a reboot, but from reading comments online it sounds like they did use the stuff from Blackest Night/Brightest day here and I didn't read those. So, I definitely feel like I'm missing stuff, like what the hell is a black lantern? Wish I would have known, I would have read those events first.

I received this book as part of the Goodreads giveaways program. This volume of Green Lantern continues right where volume 1 left off and keeps the momentum going. Interesting bits about the origin of the Indigo tribe as well as some great Black Hand action (and a crazy ending).
The Good: The entire storyline with Black Hand coming back (with a vengeance!) and the shocker of an ending.
The Bad: nothing really stands out as bad
The Ugly: same as above
Notes: My interest in Green Lantern had started to wane and the previous volume (while good) hadn't particularly shifted it. This volume has changed it for the better.

Johns and Mahnke make for more great reading. Haven't had a chance to read volume 3 but will take care of that as soon as I see it at the library.
