This is a book that I highly recommend for all middle school students! It's the story about how a community reacts and respond to a racist act from a variety of perspectives. As the story continues, the motivations (not always great for positive actions, and believable for the negative actions) are revealed for each character. It is a great example of taking responsibility for actions and how to apologize without excusing when you mess up big.

A contemporary novel of racism, social media, tolerance, friendship, and forgiveness. The plot was pacy and most of the characters were complex. There were many different characters and the POV shifted from chapter to chapter which could be a little overwhelming.
