I read this maybe 3 years ago and couldn’t  remember much, so I decided to reread it.

the writing really felt like I was in the head of the narrator, yunjae. the way he described certain things was blunt, simple and apathetic, yet I was still able to understand yunjae as a real person with just a different perspective. also, I really enjoyed how yunjae questioned things that nobody usually talks about, like the meaning of love and friendship. I think this really highlighted the contrast between my personal thoughts/emotions (and gon’s) vs. yunjae’s.

however, I would say that I didn’t find dora to be a necessary character in the story. I don’t think she really added to yunjae’s character development. also, the ending felt a bit abrupt. I wish we got more of a conclusion to yunjae and gon and also gon and his dad, yun. I wanted to understand more about gon’s side of the story.

I really liked this book, it was incredibly easy to read and flew by. I would’ve loved more than one perspective, I would’ve loved a chapter from Gon or Dr. Shim, anything to get a little more of their mindset and thoughts interacting with Yunjae. I also feel like his relationship with Dora was..interesting lol. I didn’t hate it, but certainly didn’t love it. I feel like the author could’ve gone deeper in his and Gon’s relationship than adding in a whole new character. Overall though I enjoyed it

Edit: okay i lied lmao its like 3.5 because i honestly feel like they butchered some of the character development. why on earth did the girl get introduced? the author should’ve just kept Yunjae and Gon as the main relationship because all the ending felt choppy knowing Yunjae was thinking abt this girly bop instead. The characterization could’ve been better essentially, not my favorite.

El libro es precioso, pero siento que es muy difícil plasmar al insensible protagonista, ya que todos los humanos sentimos. Este fallito se nota aún más porque la novela está escrita en primera persona.

Spoiler
El final (?). Todo muy mágico y no cuadra nada.
