Gorgeous pictures! I am all about text and illustrations tend to be less important for me, but these illustrations forced me to stop and attend to them. They have amazing detail.

What a fun nonfiction book. Easy to break up for my preschooler and I learned a lot. I will probably use this in my classroom this year.

I swear to God, I thought the last thing I needed was One More Butterfly Book. And I thought that maybe I had finally outgrown my susceptibility to Sylvia Long's gorgeous watercolors and graceful calligraphy. After all, I am well aware that A Seed is Sleepy and An Egg is Quiet - I have bought those books, I have gifted those books, and I have recommended those books. I thought there was probably not one more serene natural subject worthy of Ms. Long's well-researched scrutiny and Dianna Hutts Aston's tranquil prose.

But holy crap, I could stare at this thing for hours. Lovely.

I love kid's nonfiction books that are perfectly geared for kids, but also draw in and educate adults. The illustrations are beautiful. I sat at my desk and felt like I was in the middle of a butterfly garden.

This really is one of my favorite butterfly books. The lyrical words and gorgeous illustrations compliment each other. It's hard to believe you're learning facts as you're swept away in this book.
