This might be the best HH novel so far. Admittedly a little slow to start, but definitely a killer ending. There were space battles, warp spawn, astartes v astartes fights, good knights, bad knights.

The characters were varied in their temperaments and desires, and all of them ended just as their character deemed. The various astartes gave insight into the different legions temperaments.

My favorite part of this book was Skraal, every time a chapter turned towards him I was excited. 5/5 my favorite book in this series so far

A generous rounded up to 3 stars. This is the weakest so far in the series but then I didnt like Counter's last attempt either. Reads like a low budget action film with very 1D characters. Bonus points for featuring the world eaters. I've got no time for the Word Bearers. The stuff in the warp was pretty cool.

Somehow hated this more than the last one I had to read (#41 Slaves to Darkness), but also somehow I'm giving this the exact same rating.
