If I didn't know the author from a writing server we're on, I probably never would have picked this up. It's not my genre, and I don't go out of my way reading heterosexual romances.

That said, this short story takes all of fifteen minutes to read, and tells a complicated tale of societal class, family, and romance all within only 27 pages. I was initially a bit confused as to the timeline, which seems to be so by design - the snapshots may very well be puzzle pieces, and it's up to the reader to keep everything clear so that they can slot into place eventually to reveal the whole thing.

The writing style's nice. A few too many repetitions of the same phrase, but it flows, weaving very clear images of what the author wants you to see, and highlighting details that make it seem more real.

Would recommend picking this up if you want something quick and romantic!
