Very enjoyable, though some plot progressions I wasn't sure I liked. It read well as a stand alone novel, and it was a satisfying conclusion. Not yet sure if I'll read the other two books.

I did enjoy that it was a very political book; the intrigue mostly relied upon court politics, scandal, and conspiracy.

This was such a great read!

I loved so many aspects of this book: gods, the interactions between gods and mortals, a competition for who will win the throne and magic! This was so fun to read and I really enjoyed it.

I’m not sure if it is simply a me problem but I found this book so difficult to understand for the majority of the story. Once I finished the book, I understand the differences between the various gods and I also noticed that there is a glossary at the end of the book which really helped me in understanding the differences between the various people of this book and the gods.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and everything that it accomplished. I cannot wait to read the sequel soon for my book club and see where the story goes next! I would definitely recommend this book, especially if you’re already familiar with high, epic adult fantasy since I feel like this falls into that category. This was so good, please read it!

Oh I liked this one. An in testing debut novel that holds so much raw narrative strength I was compelled alone with the storyline to see how this game of gods and mortals would end. I enjoyed it - wish there was a bit more humanity and back building and strife maybe for the main character to better ground me to her story, but I liked it and can’t wait to reread it again.
